–Pavement’s 2010 comeback continues, this time in greatest-hits form. The “fully remastered 23-track compilation”, entitled Quarantine the Past, “digs deeper than the hits” and is slated for a March 9th release. Matador has challenging fans to guess the final tracklisting in order to win a handful of Pavement-related prizes. (Matador)

–Arrested Motion is on top of its game as usual, with recent coverage of Blu, Os Gemeos, and Ryan McGinley (all of whom are worthy of fuller discussion in future posts), plus a nice December recap. Good stuff.

–Raphael Zarka = Richard Serra × DQM. Awesome. (DB)

–The Knife has posted a new mp3 (download link) from their forthcoming operatic (literally) recording Tomorrow, in a Year. More details here. (The Knife / Soundcloud / YANP)
–An interview with Scott Schuman, a.k.a. the Sartorialist (Pedestrian TV via SlamxHype)

–Engadget has mixed feelings about the much-hyped Nexus One, Google’s foray into consumer hardware / direct challenge to Apple, which was released today. Gizmodo and TechCrunch, on the other hand, are considerably more impressed.
Birth of an AVATAR from Peter Ammentorp Lund on Vimeo.
–Peter Ammentorp Lund transforms himself into an Avatar. (HB) Speaking of Avatar, I have a weird suspicion that Fuck Buttons’ Tarot Sport would make a surprisingly good soundtrack to James Cameron’s cinematic epic.

–This is from a few weeks ago, but Inventory Magazine (formerly the h(y)r collective) has a beautifully shot feature on Visvim’s spring collection in its natural habitat, a converted warehouse in Paris.

–Gourmet’s new Sedici model (top) totally riffs on the Jordan Campus Chukka (bottom). Then again, Gourmet is know for its ultra-clean renditions of Jordan silhouettes… though in this case I think the latter has the more minimal design. (Complex / HB; see also: Giuliano Fujiwara, Y-3)
Also, NYMag.com has a sneaker slideshow. It’s ok.
